Steps To Planning A Baby Shower

When planning a baby shower it is best that you plan in advance as you will need time to organize the venue, the location, the food and the guest list.

Before you begin the process of organizing the decorations and the food you first need to decide on a venue. However, before deciding on a venue you have to have a rough idea of the number of people you want to invite. This is important as certain venues can only hold a limited number of people therefore it is important that you first have a rough idea of the number of people you want to invite. You also need to decide whether you want the party to be indoors or outdoors. Once you have decided these factors you can then start the process of looking for venues.

The Theme

You do not necessarily have to have a blue theme or a pink theme for a baby shower. You can opt to have the theme centred on the mother to be and her favourite colour. You can even have the theme around a cartoon character or the mother’s favourite nursery rhyme.

The Budget

It would be best if you had a budget for the party as this would prevent you from overspending. When budgeting for the party you should budget separately. For example, you should have a separate budget for the food and a separate budget for the decorations. This would be benefice to you as certain factors such as the food may cost more than the decorations therefore if you do not budget separately then you may find yourself making cutbacks in certain areas.

The Gift

When shopping for a gift you should try and get items that would be beneficial to the parents such as baby bathtime supplies. You should try and stick to gifts that the parents to be can use instead if gifts that will take up unnecessary space. For example, especially if the parents to be live in a small house then purchasing gifts such as a giant teddy bear that would take up a lot of room would be of no use. Therefore you should try and purchase gifts that will be useful.

Date And Time

Before you decide on a date and time for the party you should make sure that the guest of honour is available. Once you are sure the mother to be will be available on the selected date and time you should then inform the guest. It is important that you do not leave the inviting of the guest until the last minute as some people will not be able to make it on short notice. Therefore you should make sure that you give people enough notice. Some people may even need time to go out and get a gift therefore you should make sure that you inform your guest in advance. If there is a certain dress code then you should make sure that you specify the dress code on the invitation.
